Brava ! Brava! In my humility, me a hardened Callas fan, must give that crown to Mme. Scotto. not even my can sing no wrong Sills gets the crown for this. Brava indeed. Lord knows I've searched for the perfect Prendi Prendi. Now keep in mind that is just the aria we speak of. Not the role.

Scotto (along with Freni) is the last in the great line of Italian sopranos. I don't hear this technique or mastery of vocal effects in contemporary singers. Her opening Prendi sums up the whole tradition in two notes!
