Just a short look at the cake in normal light--now it is better to see the happy colors I used for the cake :)

  • your cakes are so inspiring how do you make gum paste cause i cant find it in my local store and im in UK so they dont do that much help pls...

    u r brill

  • you have them there but they are called modeling paste... and fondant is also called sugarpaste. have you seen aine2? you have to see her work here and visit her website because she is so near you

  • What are the lids made out of? I'm so curious to know how you did the lids for the boxes! Do tell :-) You're awesome!!

  • there's cakecircles/cardboard underneath the lids-which are all covered in gumpaste. i had to predrill holes in them since stacking the cake would require that the dowels pierce the lids underneath

  • that's spectacular!!Did you use fondant for it?If so,could you tell me where I would buy some?I'd love to get my cakes looking like that

  • you can get fondant in craft stores and baking supplies stores... or you can make it at home,

  • i am hoping i can make a small one this weekend. i will let you know . but for an idea, i made a video here on how i titled the cakeboard for the yo gabba gabba cake-- it's the same concept. just imagine the bottom board to be cake, the the top board to be the box lid. you have to wedge something in between. but illl try my best to make it this weekend !
