In this breadboard project I have the 555 running at about 600KHz and putting an audio signal on pin 5 and an antenna on pin 3, it becomes an AM transmitter.

  • since i can only broadcast to channel am 1000 what about when theres already something on channel 1000, can i put my transmission on over it? or am i skrewd???

  • @TheNikkmeffley Better to use an empty frequency.

  • if im using a 1.0000Mhz oscillator, will it always tune to channel 1000 or can i tune down to lower channels if i use less battery???

  • @TheNikkmeffley Depends on the oscillator if it is affected by supply voltage or not. Crystal controlled oscillators are not affected.

  • What are the component values for this transmitter?

  • @ledguy315 Please look up my other video where I show a schematic

  • Please, schematic!!!

  • @todorator, try moving the radio a few feet away as you may be overloading it. Also this circuit is rich in harmonics and you can receive it several places on the dial. See my new video where I added a tuned circuit on the output to clean up the harmonics.

  • hey man can you help me? my tlc555 just overheats right away when using 9v on this circuit. is this just the same thing as an astable 555? i know there's a schematic in your other video but i wanna get this one down first before i add the filter.

  • @todorator you most clean up your rf signal too many harmonics due its an square or saw shapped wave. instead of sinuspidal wave, a LC circuit may solve the problem or a low pas lc circuitr.

  • hey could you send me a schematic of the 555 timer AM transmitter please and can you be specific on the connection of the components so i can try it please.........
