My new Tokay Gecko Enclosure. (Terrarium and info on my Tokay in the Description)

This is my new terrarium for Fizgig, my 4 month old Tokay Gecko.

Terrarium Information.

It is a Zoo-Med 18x18x24 Naturalistic Terrarium.

The Substrate is a Mixture of Fir chips, and Sphagnum Peat Moss.
The plants are all artificial except for the moss.

The background is just temporary, (its Repto-Carpet) until I get my Cork Background.

It is heated with a 75 watt Day bulb for 8 hours, and a 60 watt Infra-Red night bulb is used when the day bulb is off.

The Temperature gradient is set up with the upper, back-right corner of the tank, being between 91-96 degrees F during the day, and 85-90 degrees F at night. The lower portion of the tank varies from 80-86 degrees F during the day, and 75 - 80 degrees F at night.

The humidity is Kept at roughly 65-70%. It is misted 3 times daily. Moisture is held in from the Substrate and the Moss. The water dish in the bottom of the tank is mostly for moisture from evaporation, as Tokay Geckos very rarely drink from still water. ( Tokays are dew drinkers)

Tokay Information.

Fizgig is fed a variety of feeder insects.

Monday: 6-12 Crickets dusted with Repto-Cal and Repto-Min.
Wednesday: 2-3 Wax Worms.
Friday: 1-2 Superworms to get through the weekend.

She is not fed on Sat. or Sun.

Nice set up. I just got a Tokay and know nothing much about them yet. Your video was informative and it sounds like a great environment for a Tokay, seems a bit pricey though. Do you have any suggestions in how to keep heat in the tank. i.e. Insulation or something? How is your Tokay now? Did it like that environment?

Would the same terrarium you have for you,re tokay work for a leopard gecko?

tokays are challenge 2 tame therefore its a chalange for me which is fun...very nice vid i subbed..
