A lot of people hate on upstate, but if you head up youll find mad record deals in little shops.
Most of the places I frequent don't sort their selections out. The most I've paid for a record in shop was probably 16 for a mint 1967 Iron Butterfly album. I've found some private pressing and single cat# soul and funk records. I picked up a record by a group called Wilmer And the Dukes released 1969 out of Buffalo, $2. and I know I came across the first Sylvers album in a $2 row.

I remember the On Track tapes they had. Chicago lost a few great spots like Dr.Wax, the Beat Parlor. We still got Gramaphones, Dusty Grooves.

NY's digging scene is so overpriced its a shame. They still have some nice spots on the under but the whole Manhattan scene is too expensive.Places like A1 and Fat Beats(now closed) especially. I moved to the BAY Area where I can get incredible deals on mad vinyl. I used to sell vinyl on ebay. The most I ever paid for an album in the Bay is $18.00 for a brand new album called IT's Forever by the Ebony's. I try not 2 pay any more than 3$ for one record. It's really about the ear and how you chop.

I'm a fan and digger who has shopped at A1 when I can get to New York (rarely) from London. It's a great shop and they consistently come up with new and interesting stock. Find mixes of my collection via @raregrooveprops on Twitter or via the Rare Groove Soul and Boogie Podcast on Facebook.

@MayDeefromBK Bullshit, you can't use mp3s and CDs! Man, you can flip ANYTHING and make it sound just as good. You can even sample from VCRs and DVD players :D :D :D
