"Lux Eterna, My Eternal Friend" by Shaun Davey, as found on the Waking Ned Devine soundtrack. Vocals by Rita Connolly, speech from the film featuring Ian Bannen, and lyrics by Kirk Jones & Shaun Davey.

"Michael O'Sullivan was my great friend. But I don't ever remember telling him that. The words that are spoken at a funeral, are spoken too late for the man that is dead. What a wonderful thing it would be to visit your own funeral. To sit at the front, and hear what is said. Maybe say a few things yourself. Michael and I grew old together. At times we laughed, we grew younger. If he was here now, if he could hear what I say, I'd congratulate him on being a great man, and thank him for being a friend."

  • I feel like a fool but I've just learned that Jackie O'Shea (Ian Bannon) was killed in a car crash back on November 3, 1999.

Jackie O'Shea was my great friend. If he was here now, if he could hear what i say, I'd congratulate him on being a great man, and thank him for being a friend. Rest in piece Mr. Bannon you had a great run. May we all raise a parting glass to you.
