@personaltourguide of course it survived the portugese couldnt destroy african spirit the way the did in north america they couldnt wipe out our history in the memory of the descendants of africans in south america the way they did in north america that is why in south america they still worship from their forefathers and still remember who they are they are not lost and confused for the most part ... its important to know who THEY ARE..
