Why do you feel the question of religious pluralism is so important, and how do you rank the dangers of the two common responses (Its either us or them and Whatever you believe is fine) described by the author? go to http://theooze.tv for more shows

  • nice strawmen McLaren.

  • "This morning...Christians...woke up planning to kill [people of other faiths]."

Which Christians do you have in mind, Brian?

I think you're referring to "radical Muslim extremists."

And let's talk straight--"moving toward people of other faiths in love" involves seeking their conversion.

  • I don't think he's gone off course theologically, yet. But I think he makes a very good point.

  • Paul in that "he became all things to all men that by some means he might save some" 1 Cor 9:22. We can do this only as long as we don't sacrifice truth and the Gospel Gal 1. We must remain faithful to the commands of Christ, and be certain we know him Matt 7

  • A new kind of Christianity? Christianity is and has always been exclusive. That doesn'tt mean that Christians must fight with those of other faiths, but Christians know that they will always be mocked or disapproved of to some extent. Look at what happened to Jesus. Jesus was not the loved by everyone John 7:7. At the same time Christians do not need to set themselves against those of other faiths but should be be like

  • I think Brian is wrong on this issue. He made it sound like Christianity is one of the many ways. In fact Christianity is the Good News for all religions. The Epistle to Hebrews would help in answering the pluralism question. God talked to people through all religions, but the ultimate revelation is in Jesus Christ. Jesus is a unifying force, not a co-existing option, and definitely not a divisive one. I love Brian for speaking many thing that I wanted to say, but he is wrong on this point.

  • this rocks! love this book too!

  • Brian, you and Marc Gafni should get together. Or perhaps you already are. You're singing the same tune.

  • Amen and Amen
