Woke up this morning and decided to record an arrangement I had been working on a couple of years ago. Sticking to my one-day rule for recording and making videos this was all done today. This did not leave much time so things are a little rough around the edges (a lot actually).

The recording was done in GarageBand on my MacBook using my Korg Pandora PX5D as a recording interface. I recorded Lap Steel (SX LG1 from Rondo Music), Electric Guitar (Reverend Warhawk), Drum Machine (Zoom MRT3), Sampler (Zoom ST-224) - mostly to effect the drums - & Stylophone into Garageband and then doubled almost everything using different Mellotron instruments from the M-Tron plug-in. Tron sounds used were: Choir; Mk II Violins; Guitar; Cello; Mandolins & Vibes. This also features the GarageBand instruments MiniBass 2 for the synth bass line & the Orchestral Steinway piano from the Symphony JamPack.

Video was done using my trusty Canon PowerShot S3 IS & imported into iMovie HD for editing. I learned a new trick in iMovie that allowed me to add quite a few more edits to this one. Hope you enjoy!

  • @soundofseventythree one question though, how did you incorporate M-tron? through a midi controller or...? I'm trying to understand how you could possibly 'assign' the M-tron to a REAL instrument, or otherwise?

  • Muy bueno lo que haces... Es un estilo unico , Muy bueno
