What a joke! If he had a CCW permit the only way anyone would know is if he told them or was searched then told them. Thats why you get a CCW permit! Now if the polling place was a school which some are then no he shouldn't carry it in there cause all schools have a no weapons rule & court houses do too.

No joke, a choice. It doesn't matter if they "know" you have a gun because carrying a firearm is legal in Pa.

In Pa. you can carry openly if you choose. You do not even need a License to Carry Firearms (LTCF) while on foot outside Philadelphia. It's not a CCW permit. An LTCF allows you to carry concealed, carry on public streets in Philadelphia, carry during a declared state of emergency and carry in a vehicle.

As for the places off limits for carry in Pa., Greg Rotz polling place was not at any such place.

Wake up Pennsylvanians. Read Article 1 Section 21. Screw the permit, it is a right, NOT a privelage.

the sheriff said "carry a gun is a privilege not a right" who the hell is he and where has he been all of his life. The Bill of Rights 2nd amendment says "The right to keep and bear arms..." Its called The Bill of Rights for a reason it doesnt say The Bill of Privileges.. How did he become sheriff thinking like the? He didnt take a oath to uphold his own opinion.

I hope all gun owners remain as vigilant in protecting the rights of all Americans to carry a gun, i would hope that all Americans will stand up for the second amendment an stand against anyone that tries to take those rights away.

Obviously the retired sheriff, and the judge in this case are not exactly pillars of support for the 2nd Amendment. This is the type of problem you tend to have when a state permit is issued by county officials. If the permit is recognized throughout the entire state, it should be issued by the state. The Pennsylvania State legislature needs to address, and correct this. It is time to require these county sheriffs to follow the law, and not their hunches.

@outcastink I agree! he's scared it would make us like how america SHOULD be and used to be! i HIGHLY doubt that you wouldnt see at LEAST 6 firearms at polling houses back when americans carried flintlocks and this country truly was free!

Thats the problem with our current generation of law enforcement. They are being taught in police academies that a citizen has no rights, and that the police can revoke anyone's rights at any time if they think "its to protect the public". 2nd Amendment was intended to restrict Govt rights, not that of the individual. They are teaching it wrong to the new cadets.

Wow the liberal agenda in America (I am Australian) is blatant in this piece of media. As an outsider I hope I can be a bit unbias

1. Guns are a right in your country but law enforcement (and tacitly this judge and media) believe they are a privlidge? Ummm no that is not what your laws state.

2. The Police feel they have the right to reverse the division of powers and be law maker, judge and jailor? Wow! Just, WOW!

3. Irritating police somehow validates illegal behaviour on their part? WOW!
