Marine General Smedley Butler wrote a book about such US involvements in foreign countries, it is "War is a Racket". WHY does the US have the right to mess up other people and their countries?

The reason that LBJ lied to America to offically start the war in Vietnam was because his predecessor, JFK, even though he was rabidly anti-communist, had already ordered Robert McNamara to REMOVE OUR TROOPS from Vietnam. LBJs number one supporter was Brown and Root which is called today as Halliburton. They and LBJ were warmongers, eager to start wars for profit. LBJ had a life long tradition of stealing from government for personal profit.

There is an interesting segment in The Fog of War (documentary) about the Maddox and the Turner Joy. I am a college student and can see how ridiculously short-sighted American foreign policy is. People a hell of a great deal smarter than me (like Zinni) are interesting to listen to. The military can't take everything over though. You're not going to get my anthro professor into camo and out into Afghanistan. She would need to be in a civilian role.

I served TAD on the USS Turner Joy after this event. The Turner Joy was in the Tonkin Gulf with the USS Maddox and was ALLEGEDLY fired upon by the North Vietnamese Navy which LBJ used to get the Tonkin Gulf resolution thru Congress to officially start the War in Vietnam. NO ONE I met believed the attack was real & Robert McNamara, the LBJ Sec. of Defense & the Navy now admit the attack NEVER HAPPENED. You will NEVER have change in Washington until war profiteering criminals are PROSECUTED.
