Firman's second time using a GoPro HD camera. This time he has the LCD BacPac kit. Flat lens housing is by SARTEK. Recording is1080p at 25 FPS.
Firmware is V54. Color is not corrected or touched up.

Recording was from the surface all the way to the end of the dive without a pause or power OFF. This somehow resulted in less "blue" video. It is believed the auto white balance get the chance to adjust itself in decent sunlight, and later all the way making decent correction to the depths. After all a GoPro is an outdoor camera. So its important to know the camera's limit.

Some people who powered ON the GoPro camera at depth have reported "bad" color on the footage. This is likely the GoPro auto white balance got confused........LOL.

Time 02:13 is 13.5 meters depth. Colors starting to go blue.
Time 03:35 is 15.9 meters depth.
Time 04:43 is 29.5 meters depth.
Time 05:19 is 33.3 meters depth.
Time 05:59 is 39.7 meters depth.

Maximum depth of the dive was 42.5 meters.

There is no music in the video because by listening to Firman's breathing, one can tell he is shivering from cold. A 28 Celcius diver in a 21 - 23 Celcius water of Bali will be freezing for sure......LOL.

Mola-Mola action starts at 05:35 and 35+ meters.

Location is Crystal Bay. Nusa Penida Island. Bali. Indonesia.

Coordinate in Decimal Degrees :
-8.715629° ( South )
115.455287° ( East )

Get GoPro Tripod Mount, get "CamGrip" a plastik handle.

Get a safety clip and use a small line for the gopro, clip the line to the BCD, so you won't loose the GoPro.

    Have fun in Bali......

  • Hello,

I have a question about the Go Pro. At the end of the month I will do my PADI Open Water and in in september I'm going on a dive trip to Bali. For this trip I would like to use the go pro with the sartek housing. So I will order it this month.

But now my question: how do you mount this cam? Or do you just hold it in your hand? And if so, what is for you the most practical way to attach it for not loosing it?

Would be nice to hear from your experiences!

    Kind regards

    Pieter
