The core belief of unions is that all teachers are equal and that is reflected in a collective bargaining agreement. There is no incentive for innovation or hard work. Public school teachers discuss their profession and pro-student reform they'd like to see. http://www.kidsarentcars.com

  • they lady looks like sarah palins stunt double

  • The system is the problem. Dump the department of education and go all charter.

  • Reading, writing and performing basic math is still enough of an education in many situations. We still, however, haven't reached that goal, as far as I can see.

  • @sgsnead

ACtually yes they have to.. and if they dont... they are restricted from many of the committees and restricted from many functions.

YES the schools are in the business of teaching our kids...

THEY SHOULD be in business to compete for the parents attention..and childrens attendance.

    END UNIONS AND GET VOUCHERS!

  • You are right schools are schools and should worry about teaching our kids better not more pay. They are taking our money so the should pay more attention to our kids. Over the years we give more and more money but we don't get better results. We need good teachers not unions.

  • Actually one of these teachers said she wanted out of the union and to stop paying dues but was forced to continue because she did not live in a right to work state. Also what you call silly rules I call union control and it is hurting our kids. The teacher that decided not to join the union had already contributed to a committee and they had adopted her idea, she was an asset. Due to union control she was forced out and our kids lost an advocate and asset to them.
