Happy new year guys! Here's a quick riff I came up with. I'm using flatwound strings for the first time in my life, it's kinda weird. I got some d'addario chromes flatwounds for xmas. I also got an i-touch, (wich is awesome) and Modern Warfare 2 (wich I always get my ass handed to me online but it's fun anyway). Hope you guys had a good one. please check out my other channel!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/DarrenLikesDanger

  • Do you use many distortion effects? If yes could you prescribe a pedal?

  • @NewProtozoanMk2 I have a Pandora PX4D processor. Its pretty cool

  • Just wondering what your amp settings are?I have tried to get the sound you have and can't seem to find it.I'm using a 83 fender bullet through a very standard Peavey head with a 15" speaker. Is it even possible to get your tone?

  • @seifer42 You may not be able to since the bullet doesnt have a the same pickup configuration. On my amp I keep the treble flat (like at 5 out of 10) and boost the bass and low mid to about 7 out of 10. Then on the bass itself I turn the bridge pickup down just a little. I think the bullet has a great classic tone. But you can also change your sound quite a bit by lowering or raising your strings. I keep mine a little high cause I cant handle any buzzing at all. thanks!

  • hey what do u think of the american deluxe jazz bass???..is it a good bass??

  • yeah its good. Its got the extended fret board and active electronics. Im not a big fan of active basses but alot of dudes swear by them.

  • cool

  • Three people's hand slipped and accidentally hit the thumbs down button. Good shit dude! Tasty slap technique! Keep it up!

  • @darrenandsarah123 Cool, thanks, I'll look t up.

  • Cool little riff ... I love flatwounds myself, they way they feel, the way they sound, they way they smell ... well ... forget the smell ... problem is, changing strings is a pain, so I just end up leaving roundwounds on as I think they're a bit more versatile on fretted basses .. guess you have to have a different bass for each string type. Then there's putting rw's on fretless basses which sound really cool IMO but there's the issue of fretboard wear and blah blah blah blah blah ... f**k!

  • Hey nice job! Could you write up a quick tab chart for me? Sounds very cool!

Id greatly appreciate it if you can!

    Keep on playin'!

  • The lick is good and there's only one thing I'd change. I'd switch that 11 12 trill that you do around 0:08 into an arpeggio.
