Update. I hated Vista with a massive passion. I still do. Windows 7 on the other hand, I do use, and it's not even good, but it's better than anything else out there. If you can settle for Ubuntu Linux, please do so, because Windows 7 enjoys crashing if you run LOTS of software. To the point... Windows 7 Ultimate doesn't really come with many "toys", especially the background videos. It's got nothin'. SO... I use StarDock's DeskScapes and love it! FINALLY, good video on my desktop!

Chris lunchin!!!! i would have expected him to have a top of the line CPU and enjoy the fact that Windows made the Dreamscene feature apart of Windows Vista *Ultimate* for a reason. I'm a prime example it's all on how you tweak your hardware.

Vista is better than XP...provided you have the specs to run it. I have an AMD 3000+ @ 2.4, 2GB ram, Zotac 8800GT and 500GB HD. It cant get any smoother. I turned the annoying UAC off. The pluses - DX10, Aero and Dreamscene is beautiful, security. Cons - sucked when i had 1GB of ram

You keep winning about Vista. Your problem is that you probably don't know how to configure it properly or you are to lazy to do that. Vista is quite nice system nowadays. It works perfectly with Aero interface on my hp dv6530ew. Configuring Vista properly makes it better system than XP.
