  • they had not acquired 3254 at this point, and one of the big reasons they got '54 was that they needed a steamer that could easily pull trains up the grade while '17 was down for repairs.

  • 3254 has been at steamtown since or before 1986, I was there in 1984 and 3254 was there then, they had her nembered as 1271 though.

  • @AFBoone1 wait, but if 3254 was dressed up as 1271 in 84, where was it??

  • stevelerro. Steamtown had 3454 dressed up at Lackawanna 1271 , I have many pictures to back that statement up.

  • @Conrail6370 - Steamtown made a trade with the Gettysburg Railroad for the 3254. They traded CP 4-6-2 1278 for the 3254.

  • @mdurdan DL did not exist at that time. What you see is Guilford.

  • whos loco's wer pulling the passanger train at 1;54?was that the delaware lackawanna's loco's?

  • If there looking for biger power , they should restore the Reading T-1 , that could pull the grades with no problem. it wighs 432 tons
