It's got a personality, I'll give it that. Plus, finding a car with 35+ MPG and AUX-input is still a rarity these days if you're cheap.

I have a 2009 Yaris sedan w/4 speed auto. trans. Odometer just rolled over 50K miles. It's rated at 29/34, City/Hwy mpg. Lowest mileage I've ever gotten is 34mpg (mix of 80% city/20% hwy driving in ATL traffic!) The car easily achieves 42 to 46mpg on the highway (using A/C), far exceeding the EPA ratings. Very inexpensive car to maintain and own, and incredibly reliable. Great little car!

nice car.
I have the 2001 ECHO
i removed the back headrests. They obstruct visibility.

I have a Vitz 1.0 Litre (Japanese import Yaris), not the 1.5 Ltr that you Americans get, and it's terrible. It's my first car and all that crap, but I hate it. I'll never buy a toyota when I get a car of my own. built cheaply, handles like a dog, and for fuck's sake don't get the automatic. it guzzles gas and hangs on gears. The car wasn't my choice. but I'm stuck with it.

Yaris is awesome!! Haha! I love the part where you go, "It's kinda a neat little car...kinda sporty looking...a little ugly...but it's not that bad."

from 5:29 it's like a slow-mo transformers :P

I have one of these. I hope that North America gets the diesel engine version that sells in Europe some day.
The 1.5L sold in the US gets really good gas mileage; the diesel would get even better fuel economy.

thank you for the tour, really genuine

Nice car good review better than some of the Pro reviews. we dont get this Basic version in the UK, i notice it doesnt have electric windows which i think is a plus as electric windows on previous Yaris tend to develop faults.
I've seen a few of the sedans like a powder blue and the interior is nasty like some cheap plastic shower for an old lady. This one looks okay. I'd prefer a charcoal color myself, but silver's okay. One recent video claims around 50 mpg hywy, which is much highwer than the sticker and facts say. Isn't that the same motor they have in the Corolla anyway? Does the gas pedal stick?

@Haleon1018 Ha! Well, I can tell you that cheap plastic showers aren't only for elderly women. I've got a cheap, powder yellow shower, and I'm only twenty-eight! Yeah, the silver's not for everyone but since my wife drives it 120 miles every day, we figured it would hide dirt the best. 50 mpg/hwy is way optimistic. I'd say around 36, but maybe 40 mpg without air conditioning. The motor was from the Echo and my gas pedal has never stuck. I have a manual so if it did, I'd just pop it in neutral.
