  • theres three cordite charges inside the nose cone, one is fired, the exhaust goes through a small turbine and gearbox thats coupled on to the front of the avon compressor. theres a clutch that disengages when the starter shaft slows down.

theres three charges because it dosent always start on the first attempt

  • @Badseed131313 there still the same aircraft, although the US lengthend them for testing and increased the wingspan and different engine's.Gotta say it was ideal for valley bombing.

  • @1bearcatf8f The Martin Canberra B57 is a little different than the English Electric original. That one has a tandem cockpit instead of side-by-side and a unique rotary bomb bay. Used extensively in Vietnam by USAF and VNAF.

  • @horacionav the B-57 is a good light attack bomber.I think it's a pretty nice plane

  • @1bearcatf8f and was used in malvinas war in 1982..

  • @waspsnest What if you use two on take off, but need to attempt an in air restart more than once?

  • @waspsnest Thanks, I was curious how they worked

  • Beautiful engines.

  • Beautiful classic jet...

  • This bomber was suited for veitnam,Tight spot bombing and good for CAS bombing.
