as the one in this situation being onstage I agree. The quiet mumblings and "sssss' " are the worst!

My husband and I and some family members first heard Count Basie Orchestra at Disneyland, in the 1960's. After hearing them that up close and personal, recording were never good enough. Our favorite band, over the years, to go hear every summer, until his death, was Woody Herman's band. Mike Brignola really impressed me, on the Baritone Sax. Never paid much attention to who was playing it, until we heard him. Glad to hear he is your teacher, tjc197. Our next favorite band, was Buddy Rich.

Mike Brignola is my sax teacher. He's really good.

Man, you should just go for it im playing this for school in the jazz band and i so want to get this solo on tenor. I'll fight anyone for it :P

all the chatter in the background.
my biggest pet peeve about live concerts. last night the a-hole behind me WOULDN'T SHUT UP-GAWD.
People are so rude it amazes me.
and the idiots screaming high pitched in my ear at 6000 decibals whenever someone finishes a solo.

Yeah man! Roger Really growls on sax man!
I play tenor sax and Contrabass sax (yes, my school has one) in Jazz band and i wish i could sound like that! but im scared to go up and improvise....
I agree! But this was not a concert - its a dance. Even Woody didn't expect the audience to be quiet and listen at a dance. Buddy Rich never did dances (one - he didn't have a "dance" book and two - he couldn't put up with people talking.
