Mabinogi/Oblivion Sample 1

I took about three days methodically replacing almost every ingame Mabinogi track with an appropriate substitute from the Elderscrolls: Oblivion OST. I also removed virtually all of the annoying NPC themes and either left them tuneless or replaced them with a more important-sounding track from the Myst series--if they were an important NPC. I really wanted to give the feel of a Western RPG, and I think I've succeeded. Sadly a lot of the locations in the game don't have any music or ambiance files to replace, and thus remain dull, boring and empty (cough, Iria, cough).

I love the ability to customize the music and I pray Nexon will let us keep it. If they will, then I'm sure they won't mind me sharing my finished product with you. Just unpack this rar and replace your MP3 folder in C/Nexon/Mabinogi. This will delete most of your NPC music, but if you want to keep most of it, you can instead copy the CONTENTS of this folder into your current MP3 folder. This will still give you the replacement tracks, but let you keep the ones I couldn't find appropriate replacements for.

I'd mean it even more if I said it today. These last couple weeks I've searched long and hard for another good free to play MMO; something to do besides play Mabi all the time; maybe something with a littler more fast-paced action and thicker atmosphere. But all I could find that compared in overall quality was Dungeons and Dragons online, which is graphically very taxing and (like almost all other MMOs beside Mabi) has an extremely complicated interface.

It's not really a mod. There wasn't any coding or anything like that. I just replaced songs in a folder.

Mabinogi is free, yeah, though it's got a pretty cool microtransaction scene. I personally think it looks better than WoW, though that's just my taste in aesthetic. WoW has better graphics but everything is really goofy and clownish.

Well, think about this, there are far worse games out there. At least this done doesn't make your eyes bleed the second you start it.
