Cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" played on a double-neck (12/6) Ovation guitar. I used a Boss Loop Station to record the 12-string introduction, which I then used as background during the subsequent solos. Other equipment used include: Boss compression, Boss delay, and Fender Acoustasonic Junior amplifier.

Lyrics:
So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from hell
Blue Skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

And how I wish
How I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
But have we found
The same old fears
Wish you were here

  • Are the strings on the top neck E A D G B E A D G B E A ??

  • @FrankieXD1

The strings on the 12-string neck are (from low to high) EE AA DD GG BB EE. The bottom four pairs are each an octave apart. The top two pairs (BB and EE) are in unison.

  • @billtruttschel Thanks, why are the BB and EE in unison though? x

  • @FrankieXD1

The top two strings are in unison because they are too thin to be an octave apart.

  • what chords are you playing as fill between C-Am, and G-D?

  • @Rickmand

Thanks, in between the C and Am is X2X010. In between the G and D is 3X2013.

  • Absolutely amazing version of the song. I really love the opening lead you did, with the loop. Truly awesome. 2nd solo was very cool. --- I made a video with my double neck. Just search under --- DJ Robert Navarre Double Neck, or click on my name. I would really love if you could review my playing.

  • Good Job!

  • Awww you missed my favourite lick in the intro solo. Nice to see someone improv over the solo part rather than play it exact. Nice loop work too. :) Is that a custom job guitar or can I buy one? :)

  • nice
