New I-10, SH 99 direct connectors now OPEN

Federal, state & local officials joined TxDOT to celebrate the opening of the newly-constructed direct connectors for the I-10 west/SH 99 interchange. The first of the two ramps, SH 99 northbound to I-10 eastbound, opened on December 2. The second ramp, I-10 westbound to SH 99 southbound, opened December 14. The addition of these ramps will significantly improve the mobility & flow of traffic traveling through the interchange. Motorists who travel SH 99 northbound to I-10 eastbound, as well as I-10 westbound to SH 99 southbound will see a reduction in travel times from using the direct connectors to bypass the signalized intersection.
