The Four Strong Winds sang this a few days ago at the school's awards night. It is one of their favourite songs. From Wikipedia: "One Tin Soldier" is a 1960s era anti-war song written by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter. The Canadian pop group Original Caste first recorded the song in 1969. The track briefly reached limited popularity in Canada and reached Number 34 on the American pop charts in early 1970. It is sung by children choirs on/around Remembrance Day.

  • I like this. You did a really nice job. Let's see the Four Quarters did a lot of doo wop. You seem to be doing a lot of stuff from the late '60's and early '70's that followed doo wop. Let's see what came next... hmm... You might warn your younger friends who can sing that their director could be headed for Disco!

  • @Jazzbeu55 No worries there! That is not happening. :-)

  • I'm doing this song for my choir

  • I love this record. This song was featured in the film "Billy Jack" in 1971. The group Coven, who performed this song for the film, had the biggest hit with the song. These young ladies do a very nice job with this song and I love the pretty harmonies weaved into the arrangement. Great job ladies!!
