  • HOLY CRAP!!! Bastianini defines what a Baritone voice should aspire to be but never will we hear this perfection again.....

  • That high G at 2:55 was so huge it sounded like an atomic bomb...

  • @jcab2323 ¡¡Probablemente no, con seguridad!!

  • Espectacular, no entiendo cómo hay tres personas a las que no les gusta.

    Bastianini es único

  • why "everybody" speaks of Dmitri when this is a Bastianini video??? curious nobody speaks about other current baritones here trying to say if they can or cannot be compared to great Bastianini :))))))

  • probably the best voice of all time..

  • Un manque d'implication sensible,,mais un rendu fort présentable.Beau Sol,vilain Fa#...

  • @gallferi It's a G (written on the score).

  • Grandissimo Bastianini!

When will we ever hear such a great bass baritone voice with such ringing 'acuti'?

What a great loss the opera world suffered when he passed away at 44, an age when most singers of his class are at their best.

Thanks 'babyfairy', for the opportunity to once again hear him at his best.

  • His soul lives with God forever

  • @Samurai9 Actually what determines the classification of the voice is where it shifts registration. Bass voices shift a full tone lower than the baritone voice. Also if you listen to the lowest notes in this clip, his voice does not "speak" as effectively, which would not be the case with a bass. Do not confuse color (timbre) with vocal classification--- it completely hinges upon the passagi.

  • @barryfifeful I think, with your last words you're dead right! Production values are going today above quality of singing and that's why most promising singers of today loose their voices too early!
