Today, we noticed a rat had finally died in our yard (from the poison we presume). At first it had lots of flies on it, but now a larger predator has got hold of it.
When I walked into the kitchen, I noticed the rat had gone but there was a rather large magpie in the yard. It hopped up onto the window ledge outside (with a bit of rat fur hanging out of its beak) and stared blankly at me before flying off. The magpie has moved the rat round to the side slightly, and is currently enjoying the wonderful bounty of nature.
I'm kind of worried that the magpie will soon die from the poison, but then I can video a fox eating a dead magpie (what eats a dead fox?).
Magpies rule!

i agree with melanparise.look if you want to kill rats or mice this is what u do.get a mouse trap...mediume size and attach it to something heavey or a wall with wire.use peanut butter instead of cheese...gauranted...works like a hot damn

its true. when you kill rats, mice, or anything with poison, other animals will come and eat them. then, they too will get sick and die... And you cant count on finding all of the rats that the poison kills to throw them away. You wont be able to find them all, so more animals will die. thats not fair.

I hate rats, but clean them up. There's no reason to kill a magpie, a fox, someone's dog, someone's cat, some poor homeless guy....
