  • this is a good tutorial, and so too are the other sonic academy tutorials, but it sounds to me that the samples being used by sonic academy have had a hell of alot of tweaking before being used on the impulse racks.

I have alot of samples from various companies including loopmasters and none of them sound as "clean" to start off with as theirs. why don't they tell us how they get their samples so clean sounding? then we might actually be able to make these cool sounding drum beats!!

  • try freesounds for samples

or google free TR808 and Free TR909

Theres 3 Places you can get Free drum Sounds!! Enjoy!

  • useless tutorial

  • where do you get drums?

  • @FunkStarSuperStar For Real, like I didn't know how to put this elementary sequence together

  • @KGDB96

Then we can see where is he clicking!

  • Make your own fucking boom boom clap clap hes just showing the basics. dont fuckin copy him,. use your creativity

  • @Rekoreth I agree with you, boom clap boom clap was the first thing that I learned when I started use the ableton, (and I have fifteen years old!)

Then I think I'm a God of ableton, no?

  • why would you make it so theres a red circle every time you click, so annoying!

  • @Rekoreth Haha, yeah it's not Drum & Bass. The hats and layering can get a little complicated though.

  • Not the best tutorial at all, i mean you could have explained the kick compression, effects, etc. I think it's crucial for you to mention that the kicks should always be in mono. You might need to really polish the way your drum sounds.
