  • Thanks for hte comment. I agree that pulling can cause a dialysis. Dissection from the other side is not shown in this video, though it was done. I have started using iris retraction now. this is an older video and I do not have the post-op photo. Stage V around 15-20% only attach as the ones we see have rather advanced disease, flat anterior chamber, very anterior disease and such

  • Thanks MPS sir for sharing one more awesome video.

  • Dear Dr.MPS,

That is an excellent video. you have made bimanual dissection look really easy in your hands. It would be really nice if we can have a background commentary in these videos with a word of caution for complications anticipated in each step.

  • Thanks Dr.Sheena.

Will try to do that next time. My voice may turn off people wanting to see the video though!

  • Not bad video, I would have liked to see more detail. The most important feature is stopping before a break and I did not see a break. Was there a break ? I was surprised to see scissors surgery from right side only. I find that I need to do surgery from the right and left and that pulling can lead to dialysis. Small pupil requires more pulling than large pupil, why not retract the pupil?

Do you have post-operative pictures ?? What is the percentage of vision ? How many remain attached?

  • Amazing...

  • to be able to reach the vitreous humor ?

  • please any one can tell me about Aspecialized center in egypt which I can trust to do a vetrectomy operation to my son suffering from stage 5 ROP

  • Why do they remove the lense?

  • hi. My son is blind from retinopathy of prematurity ( totally with no light)

He is 9 years old ( you can see him in some of my videos)

Do you know if there is any thing they can do today to bring sight back? Or are they working on anything?

  • Dear Dr.MPS,

Your voices is one of the most knowledgeable voices in the retina faculty of India. It can never put anyone off.
