If you perform to an audience or release music & certainly if you make a living like PW does you are an entertainer & the requirement is to be entertained. You think Weller grew musically. @kingofpunk1967 , Exactly it is about the music and we musicians play what we want whether you want to admit it or not. We don't write for you, we don't play for you. We do it for ourselves. You all just happen to like it and follow us. So Weller didn't abandoned his fans, he grew musically, they didn't.
