I live 6 miles away from Chapman and go to school there. That tornado wiped out all of our schools. And today's voting day for the bond for new schools!
I lived in Manhattan as a child on Stagg Hill. I have lived in Northern California for the past 30 years where the weather is always non threatening. A few earhquakes once in a while. I find Tornadoes much more terrorizing. If I have to visit Kansas for any reason. I must have a basement room to sleep in. Otherwise, I'd probably develop anxiety if the sky turns grey. In california, when its grey, its either fog or light rain. But in Ks, it seems like an automatic Tornado watch.. Yikes..
We do get them but they happen in places like Perth and brisban but i am not sure if we get them big or not because i live in katoomba and i haven't herd any history about katoomba getting them so i would'nt know
this tornado hit my town adn it was not cool 1 person died and 85 percent of the town was desrtroyed includong the elementary middle and high school of chapman
70 mph winds occuring along either a 250 mile squall line is not "common". And if thats not the case, a single storm with enough energy to produce 70 mph winds AND travel 250 miles is even less common.
Again, I reiterate, bad storms (***INCLUDING TORNADOES***) occur on every continent except Antarctica. If you're not going to do your homework, please slap yourself in the face repeatedly.
Tornadoes have occured on every continent except Antarctica. They may not occur everyday but they are fairly widespread.
CatieRo11 is right - tornadoes can form rainwrapped. Lightning strikes the planet thousands upon thousands of times per day per second which makes it VERY likely that lightning is occuring during a tornado touchdown, let alone before or after the tornado forms.
If you're going to make such basic comments, at least do your homework.
