A live video of the song "Ballyhoo" by my old band PopCanon (web.popcanon.com), recorded at our "Last Show Ever" on April 21, 2001. Interesting factoid: We wrote this song as the theme for the University of Montevallo philosophy club's annual debate in (I think) 1999.

  • montevallo is not in the middle of nowhere, lawl, the steps on main indicate the center of alabama.

    Where's Dr. Patton?

  • Its pretty isolated is all I meant. I lived in Birmingham for a few years, and driving from there to Montevallo always felt sort of like a camping trip. That doesn't mean it's not a lovely place. I always enjoyed visiting there. Dr. Patton was the inspiration for this song. He came to all our Montevallo shows, but this show was in Florida, and he didn't make it there.

  • Dude I can't belive people are hating on your music. I wasn't going comment but when I saw all these "assholes" trying to step up and talk shit I had to. Your music is the shit. Im a musican/artist myself. So when I found "Arthole" on here, I thought it was the greatest song ever(or close to at least) so I looked for other stuff by you guys. And I wasn't let down. Im only sorry that found out about the band after it was gone. Oh well thats the beauty of art, it can never die.

  • Thanks, man. Even all these years after the band broke up, we enjoy getting mail from people who appreciate what we were doing. This band has always been one that people either loved or hated. We always thought the hatemail was kind of funny in a way. If you're interested in more Popcanon music, you can go to the website -- www.popcanon.com. There are several CDs available on CDBaby and elsewhere.

    Thanks again for your note.
