Saddam wanted to destroy the countries who did not obey their religion or law and shit. They also took down the U.S. Embassy and that's what woke up the US, then the US funded WMD research and gave them weapons to fight saddam, then gave the opposing side weapons so they could not overpower them, it was a way of keeping balance.

What happened in Germany comes to show how much power the people have over their gov't. All it takes is a little brains & the balls to do something. My father went to Germany to visit relatives prior to the invasion in Iraq. He said every civilian over there told the German government if they send so much as one soldier to Iraq, they would shut down the country & not spend or buy anything which would in turn hurt the government. Guess what? Germany didn't send so much as one soldier to Iraq.
