hey who nicked the boiler or should I say stones vapour generator

@cageordie. like i say, it is generally accepted that these deltic engines were short lived and sometimes very short lived. sorry you do not like that fact, you sound like a hardened trainspotter.
-
@gilessmokey They ran from 1962 to 1982, they were killed by being run hard without maintenance until they failed. You are surprisingly willing to air your ignorance in public.
-
@dangerousandy. my opinion is that both the e type and the deltic engines were soon worn out and smoking .
-
Seriously probably the most efficient engine made in the world, I won't lie.
-
the deltic engine is the best locomotive ever! they are a classic

Napier Deltic engine wins on sound alone!! Besides, the class 55 is a work of art. It was the Jaguar E-Type of the railways
a pure work of art, the best engine ever to go inside a loco, and the best locos in the world the deltic carried them, this country is nothing now not compared to when these were built, class vid

@gilessmokey I guess you can't add up. 20 years at 1000 miles a day with time off for good behavior and no maintenance... let's be conservative and say 4 Million miles. I appreciate Napier, I couldn't care less about trains. You sound like a jerk.
