Pro Tools 7.4 introduced Elastic Audio, a way to time-align tracks based on user-adjustable parameters. Elastic Audio made huge improvements over Beat Detective, but editors were "micro-editing" tracks manually long before Elastic Audio or Beat Detective. Brady Barnett, one of the leading editors in the music industry, compares and contrasts Elastic Audio with manual pocketing, and the results might surprise you.

This video is part of Multi-Platinum Track Editing, an instructional DVD that details advanced editing techniques. More information can be obtained at http://www.multiplatinumprotools.com. Additionally, this video is highly compressed for YouTube. Longer, higher-quality previews--as well as additional information and tutorials--are available on the Multi-Platinum website.
