Collection of videos at the Mini Maker Faire in Melbourne, 14th of January, 2012.

Unfortunately the video is a little bit shaky and crappy in quality because it was filmed on an iPhone.

Official web site for Melbourne's own Maker Faire:

Projects shown in this video, listed in order of appearance. Unfortunately I don't have all the details of the crew or projects listed here. Let me know if you can fill them in.

3D Printing Systems:

Gorilla Builderz:

Microphone engraver (based on the Egg Bot). I don't have much info about this one.

8x8x8 LED cube:

Maker Bot 3D printer, shown by the Freetronics crew, and then another Maker Bot printing a whistle:

OpenPCR project, demonstrated by Robert Shepherd and his friend. One of my favourites at the Fair:

PCB plotter. Not sure who these guys were. [UPDATE: They where the Squarebit crew, demonstrating their Zing plotter.] The plotting quality was not that great, although they used a conventional plotter and marker for the etch resist. Interesting concept though, and has some potential with some refinements.

Ultrasonic autonomous car. No details on this one. [UPDATE: It's an Android-powered telepresence robot, called Higgins. Thanks Calozor.

  • The 'Ultrasonic autonomous car' is 'Higgins' and is actually an Android-powered telepresence robot. The camera is looking at the rear of it, the front has a mobile phone screen and a camera on a pan-tilt assembly.

  • @Calozor cheers, info updated

  • Cheers, will take a look.

  • The wizards....they have arrived.

  • Glad you took this video as I missed it due to a unexpected hangover

  • Glas you took this as I missed it due to hangover. Thanks

  • AntiProtonBoy - you might get some missing clues of exhibitors from my video - I sometimes filmed contact details and the labels of stall holders.
