The Canine Remote Deployment System (CRDS) is a harness attachment intended for use by US&R canine teams. The CRDS is designed to allow a canine to carry a pack (the underdog) to a patient in rubble and allows the handler to release the underdog via a remote wireless transmitter. Normally, the CRDS is employed when canine access to an incident site is allowed but human access is precluded.
