  • I don't understand: What's a filk? Is it some kind of S&M or something?

  • "Filk" is best described as "Science Fiction/Fantasy Folk Music" - Some of it (Particularly the songs of the group "Ookla the Mok") are in a rock/metal style, but most are more country/western or Folk in their style.

  • Great song. Is this from a movie? I was looking for songs in the style called "dark country", usually dark and dramatic bluegrass songs and adult country songs.

  • The song is a Filk Song, written by Tom Smith, the Fastest Filker in the world. It was inspired by the most excellent (and lamentably short) TV Series "American Gothic" which you can get on DVD from Amazon, I believe.

  • When that statue at the beginning began to come into view, my heart seized. Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink, and you're dead.

Additionally, this song reminds me of High Hopes, by Pink Floyd.

  • LMFAO Lumberg?

  • One of Tom Smith's best songs, even though I'm not familiar with American Gothic. I'd love to do a video of this for harry Potter fans...about a relationship between Hermione and Lucius Malfoy.

  • Ok I looked it up, maybe its folk style music while making up stuff, limerick and tall-tale style, while playing characters?

Either way, cool song. I like johnny cash, maybe this guy should do western themed stuff.

  • Beautiful. Though, maybe you should note that this song was actually written with those two charactures in mind. :-)
