Ant Farm 02: The Great Escape

A follow up video on the ant farm I made about a week and a half ago. Every other day I'll see an ant on the outside of the ant farm. Don't know if they are escaping or if it's an ant coming in from the outside.

Question? How do you feed them?

@MsGnorts, I usually placed some bits of cracker or dead insects into bottle caps that I put into the ant nest. Using bottle caps or other small containers to hold the food made cleaning up easier. You should take out any uneaten food soon because it can get moldy and may cause problems for our ants.

Are those fire ants?

@Wylff, nope not fire ants. I haven't really researched as to exactly what species they were. I like these particular ants because they are big enough to observe and they move lazily and slow so are easy to watch.

by great ant escape i thought the farm would tip over and fall and break open and all the ants would get out and start crawling all over the floor
