Did you waterproof the truck? Where did you get the driver?
gabe2304 1 year ago
@gabe2304 yep, it uses a traxxas slash receiver box and the xl-5 is waterproof.
The driver has been around for years, not sure where I got him; his official job was keep'n watch over things from the top of a CB antenna on my CJ7 ...

probaly the worst place to put the wheel but goog vid

@TheJigSawDO6473 Thanks, not sure about the worst though. Maybe the worst from a scale perspective ... don't see many tires that size on a front bumper. With no wheel weights installed it helped climbing performance that day; but ya, definatly not the best place to mount a spare.

on question, why put the wheel at the front of the truck?
MrChipmunk11 2 years ago
It was an easy way to change weight distribution. Having the spare tire mounted lower than where it was stock made the truck less top heavy and a little less likely to roll over while climbing. Moving it to the front bumper gave the front tires more traction and made it easier for the truck to "pull up" the backend while climbing. Sadly the bumper sticks out too far like this, a poor approach angle means the bumper hits things you want to climb. Wheel weights are a better solution.
