  • My parent´s were with the Donnerts when I was a kid. Yes there was some disciplining but no more than one would punish ones dog. These animals would have ripped any abuser to pieces. I, myself played with Gigi´s predecessor, Lilla. The biggest elephant in captivity at the time. Heart of gold. The Donnerts also had Bengali tigers. Although their heads were as big as a truck, they were sweet as pussycats.

  • Horse and elephant are natural nemies?

    Don't make me laugh.

Okey, they aren't like best friends but the won't attack eachother.

  • @cowboy7911 But elehants were not designed to have there full body weight supported by just the hind legs

  • great act, this just shows there's no cruelty in circuses!

  • If these tricks are so painful, then how come elephants get so excited when they've learned a new trick they'll do it by themselves without being told? My elephants go through physical training much like an athlete to get them into the physical shape so they can perform this trick without a problem

  • you know cowboy7911 i agree with you

there are some good animal trainers like martian lacey ownnwer of the great british circus he trains tigers and i have seen bno scars on them at all

  • well the problem isnt only how they train the elephants but also wht the elephants are made to do. Whether or not the trainer physically abuses the elephant the elephant still isnt being treated right because elephants joints cant handle the pressure of doing the handstand this elephant is seen doing. That trick is painful to the elephant and can cause arthristis.

  • I train my privately owned elephants with out any abuse. Stop focusing on just the bad trainers and look at the good ones too.

  • that wonderful elephant! look how healthy she looks.. not underweight.. no scars..

  • Poor critter. Circuses are cruel.
