Butterworth is the main town on the mainland side of Penang state in Malaysia. It is a major rail terminal for Keretapi Tanah Melayu (Malayan Railways) trains heading south to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and north to Hat Yai in Thailand as well as the State Railways of Thailand's International Express to Bangkok.   • i've been on this train to the 3 different routes kl - kelantan, kl - spore & kl - hadyai. it is very comfortable and i like it so much. had a sleeping deck thru all journey & would definitely do it again in d future.

  • Is the train easy to hop on and off at will? IE. is booking ahead that much cheaper and are trains likely to be fully booked (around July time)?
