United Nations, New York, 15 December 2009 - H.E. Dr. Ali Abdussalam Treki, President of the sixty-fourth session of the United Nations General Assembly is in Washington today where he met several US officials.

Dr. Ali Treki attended the Second Global South-South Development Expo. On this occasion, he received an award for his tireless efforts to promote South South cooperation. The award was given by the High Level Committee on South South Cooperation.

Dr. Ali Treki will be in Washington DC until 17 December.

Separate meetings mainly with members of the Congress and State Department officials will be organized as follows:
