@narnyslip actually no. david left the band for more personal reasons and internal affairs in the band, and even tho he left,n mark later played gigs with him and collaborated on a few albums. they still talk
-
Well I just think that Mark is hot.
-
The Knopfler brothers are hot <3
-
I love Knopfler, but - "the stadium system in America"? What about the festivals in Europe - vastly larger audiences and a huge part of music life in the UK especially.
-
damn, his brother is gettin' PISSED!!!!

He's just the best

I think Knopfler's right, the more people you add the more distant the experience can become. There may be exceptions, but a small gig is a very different experience.

No wonder David left the band!!! Mark wanted for nothing and David wanted the world!! Soon as David left, Dire Straits went on to have the world anyway and that would have pissed David off to no end, considering Mark wanted to keep it small!! I believe they still dont talk till this day. You can see quite clearly when Mark starts talking about how he dosent want to be big in America David is squirming in his seat. They would have had to have an argument after that interview no doubt!!!!!!
