This is why, in North America, we are stupid. People love to go to europe because of it's rich history & multitude of "monuments" to this history. Here, we are just starting to show some signs that we've been here for a while. Granted, nothing compared to the old world but, still something. What do we do? Tear down our "monuments' in the pursuit of modernization. It's amazing, the money spent on stupidity but, somehow, can't save a piece of history. Slow down & smell the roses, while we can!

what a pity someone like Oprah or other Africa American superstars doesn't buy this & do it up so it can be the cultural centre it was meant to be. Hell, they could all put in a little cash & not even feel it coming out of their pockets. Such a waste, such a tragedy

That's Newark NJ for you. An historic Mansion looted numerous times by whom only knows "blacks". Such a shame folks of Newark/NJ. The house is now surrounded by fence and razor wire. Funny how you see abandoned Mansions and, Castles around the world and folks just let them fade away without totally looting and destroying them. Not Newark though, they gotta represent -

if it was worth anything Donald trump would have bought it. but i don't understand why its not been cared for.. i mean seriously they were working on fixing it and these creepy ass people break into it and STEAL everything out of it. I mean what type of people would do that?
