the trumpet player cracking wasn't very obvious, but he is not supposed to decrescendo at the end of his solo though.
and this song is very hard, impossible to master within a week. so you guys did a good job considering the time limit.

i played this in the all-virginia band back in april of 09 and my god me and the other 5 tubas were loud as shit. and then we played the circus bee march after this so our lips were GONE.

this is by far the best recording that youtube has on this. yes there was mild errors in this but compared to that all-county band trying to play this

it wasn't my highschool band. it was at FSU band camp. Kids from all over the state come to spend two weeks at this camp. the first week we did this piece. but yeah there were mistakes it's not gonna be perfect after a week. but what annoyed me the most was that the trumpet player cracked on the solo. lol the only time he messed it up was at that concert. but you have no idea the musical ability of these kids. and it's only the 2nd top band

Dude, there is no way that you can own this piece in a week. I'm not usually into bragging about our guys, but we had the best flute player in the state that year, as well as this year's 1st chair, all-state tuba and bass trombone players. And none of them could own it in a week, let alone an entire band. Either you're going to tell me your high school band is at the level of the CSO and New York Phil, or you need to cool it.

Heh, I've been playing the flute for 13 years, and the flutes being out of tune here has very little to do with the difficulty of the notes themselves, but more of a lack of experience with the players. And yes, flutes are incredibly difficult to tune on quiet low notes and any type of high note.
