  • This one is one of the best values I have yet seen! It has a voice of a guitar costing hundreds more. I also like the traditional and simple style. He is right it excels in single note soloing but... It also has a big, deep and breathy sweet .

  • If I were ever to buy a Breedlove it would have to be a Revival; I just plain hate the way their standard bridges and headstock and other appointments look.

  • @bluegrasssingingman You sir are an ignorant buffoon. Better check the expiry date on that Kool-Aid you're drinking. Anyone who claims that any one make of guitar is the best obviously knows nothing about instruments. Guitars are an incredibly subjective thing. You might love a certain guitar but the guy next to you hates it. Everyone has their own preferences for feel, tone, etc. And this is to say nothing of the fact that two examples of the same model can sound and feel very different.

  • @clueworm82 I own a 1973 D35 Martin. Breedlove can't touch it. That goes for Your junk Taylor, Collings, and Gibson. Martin is the KING of the Hill since 1833. Martin will be there many years to come.

  • I like this Breedlove, sounds very rich and warm. Martins are overpriced as Taylors are getting to be. My Nephew and I did shop and he bought a Martin D-16GT for $950 which sounded better than the Taylor D4 / GC, you really just have to try each guitar out for itself. Everybody's ear is different and we all like different sounds. I go between my Everett Milano to Taylor 710 to 55' J-50 on a regular basis for their each unique sound.

  • I had a D35 and it was not all that great. They play like butter IF it's well setup after purchase. I have never played this model Breedlove but just by hearing this video I can tell it already sounds better than a 18, 28, or 35. Now if it plays as good as my D35 then Martin needs to look out. People need to face the fact that Martin cannot sit at the top of the acoustic world forever.

  • I own a 1974 Martin D-28 and I plan to sell it to buy a Breedlove, because every time I play one I just love the tone. It's personal preference of course though.

  • I love Martins. I think my high-end Lowden stands up with anything though.

  • Part of me wants to buy a Taylor eventually, but I just can't. It'd be like cheating on a spouse or something. I am a Martin player to the core. I couldn't, in good conscience, buy a Taylor or any other acoustic.

  • Good luck finding an HD-28 or even a D-28 for $1800.

Breedloves are much richer in tone than Martins until you go up to a Martin D-28 Marquis, which costs over $4k. Or unless you can find a vintage Martin from the early 70s or before. The Breedloves are untouchable at their price point.
