Here is a video of my 6PB which has had a "cosmetic restoration" so basicaly a re paint and clean up allthough a small amound of internal work was done.

It hasn't run for nearley four months now and so she was a little stuborn but one I cleaned the Lodge BBL sparking plug and applied some pencil graphite to the electrode, away she went!

The engine is running much more evenly than before and I hope the starting will improve, if not I may have to advance the timing slighly.

The fuel tank still needs to be painted, as does the exhaust and a trolley will be built soon.

I am very pleased with the result and so far about 105 hours work has gone into it so far.

The next video of this engine should see it on a trolley and fully completed.

  • Thats one very smooth nice sounding engine, I like this... :-)

  • Thanks....shortly after this video the coil packed in at a rally and I had to get it rewound....she now starts first swing, even in sub zero.

  • I Like Those Start Ups of Your Engines R U getting any more Sooner or later

  • Cheers :)

When I get another shed then I will get some more engines.....

I will be leaving school to work after this year, the sixth form aint for me....when I have a place of my own I may invest in some more engines :) It may be a while yet....

    Phill :)

  • ~ Difficulty in starting is due to a breaking down coil. A new condensor and coil will be fitted soon ~

  • I am glad to see someone else using one of those hand-rag dynomometers like I use to load the engine.

  • Yes, there's great precision involved here!

  • @steamwally Cool. Hopefully i see it around sometime.

  • Thank you, I put the fuel tank back on yesterday after painting and so the engine is finished. I have some wood to build a trolley so it should be out at rallys next month.

  • Youve done a great job painting it. Runs well too.
