Chris Winkler, an SRT vehicle dynamics engineer piloted a black and red 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR (American Club Racer) to a lap record of 1:33.915 as recorded by Motech in-vehicle data recorder (1:33.944 - as unofficially recorded by trackside clock) around the 2.238-mile, 11-turn course, shattering the previous lap record by more than 1.1 seconds.

  • the viper acr makes my dick hard. giv thumbs up if your a dodge lover like me, because theres not alot of dodge supporters.

  • Don't be so sure. The Ariel Atom was only 0.2 secs faster than the Nissan GT-R on the Top Gear track.

On Laguna Seca, the SRT10 ACR was over 5 seconds faster than the Nissan GT-R. I think that for a fast track like Laguna Seca or Nurburgring, the pure speed of the ACR would be too much for the superior handling of the Atom to overcome.

  • god i wish i could get one of those beautiful cars

  • Have a 2010 ACR with dual blue stripes, can't wait to drive it this summer

  • @mkygod I've seen the Ariel (can't remember which version) reviewed on Top Gear and it was one of the fastest cars they had reviewed ever. It was much faster on their track than a Hayabusa motorbike or something. But you're right about the Ariel not being aerodynamic enough to beat this Viper, but with a few adaptations I bet it could.

  • @rafa281 some good points, but depends on which Ariel you are talking about. I don't think the regular Atoms 300hp and below would do it. But the 500hp version probably would. The problem is the regular Atoms don't have nearly as much power or downforce/aerodynamics as the Radical SR8.

  • @mkygod The Nordschleife (Nurburgring's bigger version) is more suited for fast AND nimble cars, there are many fast sections, but mainly there are 2nd and 3rd gear turns on it. So probably the Ariel Atom would be a better bet. Look up for the record of the Nurburgring by a Radical SR8 (6:11.xx), a similar car to the Ariel Atom and you'll probably agree with me.

  • What track record? Superstock class....

  • I always wonder exactly how many of the people who say "ill race dat car in my (their car here) and own it any day", if they really even know how to drive. Honestly, I feel like ripping the spine out of every adolescent cyber punk out there. They know absolutely nothing, yet act like they're like a god or something.

  • i did 150 in that car on the highway on the way to my highschool the other day ya i own one of the 33 that were made

  • my 74 Nova went off into the dirt with it 2 right wheels right in the screw, and I almost pood myself alittle LOL

  • ill race him on that track in my PINTO lol
