June 27th marked the Los Angeles premiere of the new documentary film, "The Wild And Wonderful Whites Of West Virginia." Deke Dickerson did the film score for the movie (23 compositions in all), which was executive produced by Johnny Knoxville of "Jackass" fame, and directed by Julien Nitzberg.
The premiere event took place as part of the Los Angeles Film Festival and was held at the Majestic Crest Theater in Westwood. During this video of the Red Carpet ceremonies, Deke and his bluegrass trio, featuring Mitch Polzak on banjo and Kevin Stewart on bass, performed while celebrities including Johnny Knoxville and John C. Reilly of "Walk Hard" and "Stepbrothers" fame were interviewed.
The first part of this video shows Deke and the boys playing while John C. Reilly is interviewed in the background (then you see him slipping past Deke to get in the theater).
When Jesco White and his sister Mamie White arrived, Deke and the boys crashed the red carpet and an impromptu mountain dancing session broke out, with paparazzi camera flashes going off like crazy while Jesco danced and Deke's band played, with Johnny Knoxville laughing maniacally in the background.
