@kimmois1 What he probably means is the AKC does not recognize it as a true breed. To make the bulldogs smaller they are bred with pugs or other small dogs which can give them traits that are abnormal for a bulldog. Just because they are smaller doesn't mean they are less prone to health problems, it can actually make them worse....

@kimmois1 actually its the other way around... the smaller you continue to breed an already vulnerable type of dog, the worse some problems can get, or just bring up completely new ones.

@DueceFiveRWC The breed interpretation of a mini bulldog is what the breeder and pet owner consider a mini bulldog. Alot of breeders do not mix different breeds, they just breed smaller english bulldogs together. And the health problems is exactly why they do it.
