This test was done to test the facility, not the car.
The car had concrete in the footwells and boot and the test was designed to test the crash facility in a WORST case scenario. 80s Commodores aren't safe, but they're not this bad. Trust me; Personal Experience...

They are actually testing the wall in this video. The car was modified and had 300kg of concrete in the back to really test the walls strength
